23 MARCH 2011

Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall: A perfect match

They might have found time in the hectic schedules to set a wedding date. But for Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, the honeymoon will have to wait.

The couple are both are so busy with their respective sporting commitments, they have had to delay their post-wedding getaway.

Zara, 29, and Mike are set to wed at Canongate Kirk, with a reception hosted by the Queen at Holyrood House, on July 30.

But rugby ace Mike, 32, has already told England rugby manager Martin Johnson he will be available to play for his country the following weekend against Wales.

"He spoke to me and said he is getting married at the end of July," confirmed the England boss. "I said it is a week before the first game and he said 'right, I'm available'."

Not that Mike's new wife will mind. Zara is also back at work that weekend competing in the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park, her family home.

In fact the earliest the couple can get away may well be November. In preparation for the World Cup, Mike will be training with the England squad from the end of June until the competition ends on October 23, and Zara's eventing season is due to finish at a similar time.

A spokesman for Princess Anne's daughter confirmed: "They haven’t made any plans for their honeymoon yet.

"They will grab a holiday when they can – it's always last minute for them because of their busy schedules.

"When they were looking at wedding dates it was never an issue. They always knew it would be business as usual on the Monday after the wedding."
