The Duchess of Cornwall appeared star struck to meet Hollywood heart-throb Tom Hiddleston on Friday morning. Camilla joked that she would be "the envy of all the ladies" as she cosied up to The Night Manager star at the BBC Radio Two studios in London.

The 68-year-old was at the studios to join DJ Chris Evans for a judges meeting for his children's writing competition, 500 Words. As she entered the studios Camilla was quickly introduced to Tom, who had just been interviewed on Chris' radio show.

"Your royal highness, The Night Manager," Chris said to the Duchess.

"Hello Night Manager, how are you?" Camilla said excitedly. "Sunday nights just aren't the same without you."

After revealing she was a fan of the BBC show, Camilla asked: "But you might come back again?"

"Well you never know," the actor replied. "We will have to ask John Le Carre [the writer]."

The pair chatted about Tom's new film project before posing for a photo together, with Tom breaking royal protocol by putting his arm around the Duchess, although she didn't seem to mind.

"I'm sure I'm the envy of all the ladies," Camilla joked as she walked away.

Meanwhile Tom said it had been a "pleasure" to meet the Duchess, adding: "I have never met the Duchess before but she seems lovely. I have met Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They were kind enough to come to the premiere of War Horse, so we met them and they were great."

The Duchess also met Sophie Turner and Helen George

Tom was not the only famous face Camilla chatted to during her time at the BBC Radio 2 studios; she also had the chance to chat to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and Call the Midwife actress Helen George, who also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

"I know you from Strictly and Call The Midwife. I've followed your progress!" Camilla said. "Did you enjoy the dancing? It must have kept you quite fit?"

Helen replied: "I did enjoy it. Ainsley Harriott lost about two stone in the three weeks he was in it but it was really enjoyable and good fun."

Camilla joked: "People are going to think I spend all my time watching the television! I don't have time for anything else!"

Following her visit to the studio Camilla went down to a room where she met her fellow 500 Words judges - authors Malorie Blackman, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Francesca Simon and Charlie Higson - along with Chris Evans.

The panel had gathered to discuss 50 shortlisted stories from 123,436 entries submitted to BBC Radio 2's now annual children's writing competition and decide on the bronze, silver and gold winners in two age categories, five-nine and ten-13. The winners will be announced during a live broadcast of the Chris Evans Breakfast Show at Shakespeare's Globe later in the month.

Following the meeting Chris said of Camilla: "Isn't she fantastic? The Duchess Is actually a huge fan of children's writing. Her father wrote books, she's read other children, her grandchildren. She's big into education. She's passionate about this."
