Royal wedding: A grandmother's delight for Britain's golden couple

29 APRIL 2011

The arrival of the senior royal family members, including the Queen and Prince Philip was the signal that the service would soon begin.

The monarch's face was wreathed in smiles as she arrived at Westminster Abbey's West Door.

Her joy was reflected in a spectacular yellow hat and dress by Angela Kelly - her personal dresser - which featured beading at the neckline in the shape of sun rays.

Pinned to her shoulder, was Queen Mary's True Lover's Knot brooch - another significant choice.

Accompanying her was Prince Philip, dapper in his Grenadier Guards uniform.

Arriving just before them were the father of the groom Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Camilla was positively beaming as she passed through the doors of the Abbey wearing a champagne-coloured Anna Valentine  dress. Her look was topped off with a wide-brimmed gauze Philip Treacy titfer, featuring a thick ribbon design.

Preceding the heir and his wife was Prince Andrew, accompanied by his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.

The stylish young royals looked pretty in Valentino and Vivienne Westwood respectively, and were also both wearing Philip Treacy hats.

Completing the group was Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence.

As well as the Earl and Countess of Wessex, whose daughter Lady Louise is a bridesmaid.
