With a matter of days to go before the wedding of the year loyal royal fans aren't taking any chances.
Determined to catch a glimpse of the happy couple, well-wishers are flocking from all over Britain to camp out in front of Westminster Abbey in anticipation of Friday's nuptials.
The first to stake his place on the pavement was 56-year-old John Loughrey (pictured below left). He said: "I have always been loyal to the Royal Family. I think they are good for Britain and good for tourism.
"We have had them for more than 1,000 years and they make a great contribution to the life of this country."
He added he believes Kate Middleton and Prince William will be together "forever".
