Prince Charles will foot the bill for Kate and William's nuptials
18 NOVEMBER 2010
Traditionally the father of the bride is the one who pays for the wedding.
But obviously, things will be a little different in the case of Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptials.
It's been reported Prince Charles will foot the bill using funds from his personal fortune.
And the Queen may also help out with a donation too.
The state will not have to pay for the reception or wedding breakfast, but may have to meet security costs.
Figures being quoted have suggested this could be as much as £20 million, depending on the number of VIP guests.
A royal spokesman has already said the wedding will be mindful of the current economic climate.
While Kate's parents Carole and Michael won't be contributing to the wedding, royal correspondents are saying the self-made millionaires will cover the costs of the honeymoon.
They could perhaps even pay for Kate's dress, if she's not offered it for free.
Despite the huge cost of the wedding, financial experts are saying it could boost Britain's economy by £620 million through sales of merchandise and tourism.
