Monaco royal wedding: Joyful Charlene meets Desmond Tutu on honeymoon as dress goes on display

Monaco's new Princess Charlene beamed with joy as she was welcomed by Desmond Tutu as co-patron of a group of ten charities in her native South Africa.

The global peace icon completely charmed Charlene, telling her she was beautiful and that she already looked regal in photographs.

"I'm taking him home," she told the crowd at a ceremony at a local clinic in Cape Town.

Charlene – who was in her homeland on honeymoon with Prince Albert - joins Desmond as co-patron of The Giving Organisation Trust.

This encompasses a group of charities focusing on issues ranging from HIV to children and environmental protection.

"We are very thrilled because you have a heart," Desmond told the former sportswoman.

"It shows that you care and we just want to say a very big thank you to God that you should have wanted to use your celebrity for other people."

As Charlene was taking her first major steps into charity work, her magnificent wedding dress went on display in Monaco.

The Giorgio Armani gown, which took 2,500 hours to make, is being shown at an exhibition along with Prince Albert's suit.

Visitors can also have a closer look at cutlery used at the reception and the ecological car in which the newlyweds made their procession to the Saint Devote church.
