Royal wedding fever hits Luxembourg with a giant card and commemorative porcelain

From north to south, Luxembourg has been gripped by wedding fever. Throughout the country souvenirs are becoming available as people count down the days until Prince Guillaume is wed.

It has now also been announced that once the ceremony is over, Prince Guillaume and his wife Stephanie will take part in an hour-long ride through the streets of Luxembourg so residents have chance to greet their future
monarchs.

The ride will end at Knuedler Square, where a live performance of the song composed especially for the royal couple is expected.

In a meeting with local reporters, mayor of Luxembourg Xavier Bettle, encouraged the public to organise music and dancing in the streets, so the party atmosphere will spread through the nation.

In addition, to honour the royal union, Luxembourg's Chamber of Commerce has offered a unique gift to the couple, in the form a giant greeting card.

The card will travel over 1000km in the coming days and is available for citizens who want to leave their personal signatures and well wishes for the newlyweds.

Designed by artist Pit Weyer, the card has already been signed by Laurent Mosar, President of the Chamber of Deputies, who left the first of many congratulations for the royal pair.

A series of commemorative stamps dedicated to the couple have also been released, as well as chocolates and a cuvee vintage Cremant de Luxembourg emblazened with the couple's photo and monogram.

Limited edition porcelain has been produced by well-known ceramic company Villeroy & Boch, which is donating a proportion of its sales to the Grand Duke and Duchess' Foundation that encourages social integration.

With such grand plans and royal treasures now available, Guillaume and Stephanie's big day is even more eagerly anticipated than ever.
