Sophie and Edward confirm their attendance at Luxembourg's royal wedding

The Earl and Countess of Wessex will fly the flag for the British royalty at Luxembourg's impending royal wedding between Prince Guillaume and Stephanie de Lannoy.

Sophie and Edward will join a host of special guests from around the world as they celebrate with the happy couple on October 20.

The final offiicial guest list reveals that Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband Daniel, Prince Frederik and Mary of Denmark and Crown Prince Felipe and Letizia of Spain, as well as many others, will also be there to support the Hereditary Grand Duke and his bride-to-be.

But Sophie and Edward, who married in 1999, are no strangers to European royal weddings. The duo having attended those in Monaco, Norway , Denmark and Sweden.

On home soil the couple were also present at the union of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, as well as the high-profile marriage of Prince William's to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Proceedings in Luxembourg begin on Friday 19 with a civil ceremony and champagne reception before the grand ceremony takes place on Saturday at Our Lady of Luxembourg Cathedral.
