Luxembourg royal wedding: Prince Guillaume to marry Countess Stephanie de Lannoy

The last single heir to a European throne is set to wed.

Almost a year after Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge walked down the aisle, comes news of another royal wedding - Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, 30, has announced his engagement to Countess Stephanie de Lannoy.

Guilaume, the eldest son of Grand Duke Henri and Duchess Maria Teresa, will marry 28-year-old Stephanie in the spring, though no official date has been set.

The engagement will become official on Friday, when the couple celebrate with a banquet in the Ducal Palace.

Stephanie is a granddaughter of Princess Beatrice of Ligne and a member of Belgian nobility.

She still lives in the family residence, Anvaing Castle in west Belgium, with her parents Philippe de Lannoy and Alix della Faille de Leverghem.

The pretty blonde studied languages at the University of Lovaina and is fluent in German, French and Russian.

The couple have been dating for over a year.

The duke isn't the first of his siblings to wed. His younger brother, Prince Louis, tied the knot in 2006.

He married Tessy Anthony in 2006 after she bore him a son, Gabriel, when they were both 19. The pair met while Tessy – a former soldier – was serving as a driver in the armed forces.

The couple have since gone on to have a second son, Noah, and Tessy has been styled a princess. Louis gave up his claim on the throne to marry.
