Following Liam Payne's exciting announcement that he was beginning a solo career after signing a record deal with Capital Records UK, his sister Roo Gibbins has spoken out in support of her little brother's latest achievement, and has hinted that One Direction will still be getting back together in two years despite Liam going it alone.

Taking to Twitter, Roo wrote: "So happy for Liam, I'm biased but he's so talented it would have been a shame for him not to release music for 2 years!"

Liam and Cheryl have been officially dating for the past three months

The 23-year-old is on top of the world right now as his blossoming relationship with Cheryl looks stronger than ever after the pair adopted a puppy together earlier this month. The Fight for This Love singer shared a photo of the tiny Chihuahua stood on Liam's chest, writing: "Our new family member he is beyond cute…the dog is adorable too."

The couple appear to be very much in love after making their first official appearance at the Global Gift Gala in Paris in May, and Simon Cowell chatted about their relationship to The Sun. He said: "I saw them together and we had a really nice dinner. They were on good form.

"They're like two little chipmunks madly in love. Literally they were so cute. But importantly they both seemed very happy and very relaxed. I'm happy for them."
