Phillip Schofield's brother Tim discusses 'unbelievable support' he received during illness

Phillip Schofield's younger brother Tim has opened up about the support he received from the ambulance service after suffering with heart problems in December. Tim called into a discussion on This Morning on Thursday which focused on recent figures that show ambulance services in England failing to meet response times.

However Tim had nothing but praise for the paramedics who responded to his call after he began having heart problems at the beginning of December.

Tim Schofield said he had an "amazing" experience with the NHS

"They were absolutely amazing," he said. "The team from the ambulance service were with me right the way through from the hospital to where I am now in the rehab.

"They are absolutely fantastic I cannot fault them one bit, the support I have had has been unbelievable.

He continued: "Even the paramedics came back to visit me when I was in hospital, just to see how I was getting on. They have been absolutely phenomenal."

Phillip Schofield revealed how thankful he was for the NHS staff who saved his brother's life

Tim was hospitalised at the start of December, with Phillip taking a leave of absence from his presenting duties on This Morning until his brother was on the mend. On his first day back at work, Phillip also paid tribute to the NHS team who saved his brother's life, sharing a heartfelt message on Facebook. "To the astonishing team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and our remarkable emergency services… THANK YOU for saving my amazing brother," he wrote. "The hardest 2 weeks of all our lives and you were there for all of us, as you tirelessly fixed him, you sensitively fixed us.

"I've seen the astonishing work of our incredible NHS in action and I'm truly humbled by each and every one of you & what you do. THANK YOU xx. "He continued to applaud the health service during his first show back. "It's been a very, very tough couple of weeks but all sorted now," he told viewers. "Getting there but that's all good. Long process. I should say, my goodness me, how lucky we are with the NHS."When you read the papers you only ever see the bad stuff, you only see the complaints but I have seen the very, very best and it's incredible. When you see it up close it is quite astonishing."
